Much has changed in the way we do business forever. Embracing technology in new ways has created opportunities for B2B in the categories of footwear, apparel and accessories.

In an effort to react to the changing needs of our industry, the Threads to Treads Trade Platform was created. The energy behind the publication are Michelle Kofman, Becky Collins and Jamoi Smith. With extensive knowledge in the footwear, apparel and accessory industries, they saw a need for a digital trade platform to pull these industries together.

Michelle Kofman - Operations & Co-Editor

Michelle began her journey in brand marketing in the early 90’s with Tilley Endurables. There she worked on national campaigns for both the B2B and consumer sides of the business. Eventually Michelle landed the National Marketing Manager position at Rockport Footwear, and there polished her ability to seamlessly integrate one seasonal campaign into two different messages - to the retailer and to the consumer.

You might recognize Michelle from AFA Canada and Expo. Leading from behind, she has been pulling the industry together for over a decade and thrives on integrating different categories and people to create one big community.

Becky Collins - Brand Development & Co-Editor

Becky developed her passion for shoes and well-rounded, insightful approach to sales after working her way up from Sales Clerk to Manager and Buyer in a local footwear store. After 9 years working in retail, Becky transitioned into wholesale sales. She has been working as a sales rep for the last 15 years for various brands. A graduate from the University of Waterloo and mother of two, a Past President of the OSTA, and now President of AFA Canada, Becky is an accomplished sales professional and communications expert. She prides herself on her dedication to building customer relationships and her genuine desire to help customers succeed.

Jamoi Smith - Advertising Sales & Co-Editor

Jamoi's passion for fashion ignited at an early age. In university, he pursued Marketing as his major, laying the foundation for his career. With six years of retail experience in fashion, footwear, and apparel, Jamoi's trajectory evolved into a profound love for brand marketing. His dedication to working with local brands earned him and his team the prestigious Black Designers Of Canada award in 2021.

In 2022, He was exposed to the dynamic world of B2B marketing.

Jamoi thrives on the challenge of bringing brand visions to life and is driven by a commitment to building lasting connections in the industry.

Michelle and Becky have developed many projects together from concept to completion. Jamoi rounds out the team with deep roots in fashion and a digital marketing background.

Collectively Threads to Treads is another extension of their drive to continue putting Canadian wholesalers and retailers together.
